Got my teacher evaluations for the past semester. Looks like I moved up in the rankings. (see
Part I for reference)
Category | Semester 1 | Semester 2 |
---|
Students who completed the evaluation | 65.1% | 59.1% |
Average rating by students (out of 5.0) | 4.354 | 4.509 |
Strictness meter (department) | 67/69 | 72/74 |
Strictness meter (entire school) | 454/477 | 467/488
|
So it looks like my rating increased a bit, despite decreasing student interest in filling out the evaluation. Or maybe as a direct result of it? ^0^ Regarding the strictness ranking, five new competing teachers joined up, but I stepped up the intensity as well, and successfully retained my position as the third strictest teacher in our department. It seems the teachers in the other departments were slackers as well, boosting my school-wide strictness ranking from 24th to 21st.
The new semester just started last week. Time to utilize my patented 2-step teaching methodology once more:
Step 1: Open up the can.
Step 2: Apply smackdown liberally.
